The UFC’s return to Columbus, Ohio is official, and a featherweight match-up between Nate Landwehr (15-4) and Lerone Murphy (11-0-1) is among the most recent fights announced for the card.
On Wednesday, UFC officials revealed via social media that the 145lb bout had been added to the show. Murphy had previously teased fight news, and noted that his bout would not come in London.
Instead, the British featherweight will look to continue his unbeaten streak in Columbus. “The Miracle” is 3-0-1 in the UFC to date, and has won his last three fights. Most recently, he stopped Makwan Amirkhani with a knee at UFC 267 in October.
The Columbus date will be the first time Murphy has fought anywhere other than Abu Dhabi for the promotion, with all four of his fights coming in the UAE capital.
Landwehr will enter the bout off a win over L’udovit Klein. That victory saw him submit Klein with an anaconda choke back in October, leading to a Performance of the Night bonus. Overall, Landwehr is 2-2 inside the octagon.
