UFC 271 will mark the second Ultimate Fighting Championship PPV of 2022 — and rematch season is in full swing.
The promotion starts the year with a double-header, as UFC 270 later this month will feature both Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane, and the trilogy fight between Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo.
UFC 271, set to take place on February 12, 2022 at the Toyota Center in Houston, TX, will be topped by another rematch. That title fight sees middleweight champ Israel Adesanya (21-1) put his belt on the line against the man he claimed it from in the first place, Robert Whittaker (23-5).
The official poster for the event was unveiled Thursday. Check it out below.

The rematches don’t stop there, as the UFC’s first quarter of 2022 is absolutely brimming with them. At UFC 272 in March, two title fight rematches are expected to take place. One will see Max Holloway up against Alexander Volkanovski for the third time. In the co-main event, bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling returns against rival (and interim champ) Petr Yan in their long-awaited rematch.
For Adesanya, meanwhile, his February date with “The Repear” marks his second consecutive rematch. In his last outing, Adesanya defeated Marvin Vettori by unanimous decision at UFC 263 in June. The pair had first met in 2018, with “The Last Stylebender” winning a split decision in a fight that many considered his toughest test prior to an ill-fated attempt at claiming light heavyweight gold last year.
