In March, a pair of UFC featherweights will look to get back into the win column.
MMA Junkie was first to report the news that Seung Woo Choi will fight Tucker Lutz on March 26 at UFC Fight Night: Blachowicz vs. Rakic, which will take place in Columbus, Ohio. Both fighters confirmed the booking on social media.
Choi (10-4) had his three-fight win streak snapped in his last outing when Alex Caceres submitted him at UFC Vegas 41. Before his loss, he knocked out Julian Erosa in June, and he defeated Youssef Zalal to start his year. The South Korean defeated Suman Mokhtarian in 2019.
Lutz (12-2) had his winning streak halted in his last outing, much like his opponent. At UFC Vegas 43, Pat Sabatini snapped Lutz’s 12-fight win streak via unanimous decision. “Top Gun” won his UFC debut against Kevin Aguilar at UFC 262, winning via unanimous decision. Prior to that, he won a contract on season four of Dana White’s Contender Series, fighting twice, defeating Chase Gibson and then Sherrard Blackledge.
UFC Fight Night: Blachowicz vs. Rakic is expected to go down at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. This will mark the first time that the UFC will leave the UFC Apex for a Fight Night event since prior to the pandemic (although a rumored London card may do the same).
The UFC’s March 26 Fight Night card currently breaks down as follows:
- Jan Blachowicz vs. Aleksandar Rakic
- Amanda Ribas vs. Michelle Waterson
- Sara McMann vs. Karol Rosa
- Tucker Lutz vs. Seung Woo Choi
