With a couple of wins under his belt in the UFC, former KSW champ Mateusz Gamrot said ahead of UFC Vegas 45 on Saturday that he finally felt at home in the promotion.
Just how at home, we’d find out as Gamrot entered a tough match-up with the dangerous Carlos Diego Ferreira, part of the event’s main card.
One of the more technical and intense fights on the card saw both men come into the bout with high-level striking. Gamrot did attempt to get the fight to the ground repeatedly but as quick as he got Ferreira to the ground the Brazilian would scramble back up to his feet.
The first round was full of striking exchanges where neither man was able to get ahead of the other. Mixed in with Gamrot shooting constantly and Ferreira defending it was one of the more technical fights on the entire card.
The second round was going about the same as the first until Gamrot shot for a takedown and in the scramble ended up on Ferreira’s back. Gamrot landed a clean knee to the ribs of Ferreira and Diego had had enough. A verbal tap ended the bout via TKO making this three straight wins for the Polish fighter.
