Zubaira “Warrior” Tukhugov (19-5-1 MMA, 4-2-1 UFC)

Featherweight (145lbs): 4-2-1 UFC, Missed weight 1x in UFC

Zubaira began his UFC career back in 2014 in the featherweight division. Like a lot of fighters who come to the UFC, Zubaira dropped a weight class from where he had the majority of his pro fights before joining the organizational powerhouse. As most of Tukhugov’s fights outside the UFC were at 155lbs.

Zubaira did not miss weight in the UFC till ahead of his most recent fight at UFC 253 in September of 2020. Tukhugov came in at 150lbs for the bout citing later in an Instagram post that “something went wrong” during his cut. Zubaira also ended up losing a split decision against Hakeem Dawodu on the next night where his performance definitely indicated a very draining, tough weight cut.

At 5’8″ with a 68″ reach Tukhugov has always had a very difficult weight cut. But now at 30 years old ahead of UFC 267, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Tukhugov to make sure all the factors are just perfect so all the weight will come off properly.
