Somebody’s 0 has got to go, as undefeated featherweight prospects will collide in January at UFC 270.
Former M-1 champ Movsar Evloev (15-0) and German-born Georgian Ilia Topuria (11-0) have been booked to face off at the event. The first PPV card of 2022 for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the event takes place on January 22.
Red Fury MMA was first to report news of the pairing.
Evloev captured and defended the M-1 bantamweight championship prior to signing with the UFC in 2019, where he would move up to featherweight. He is undefeated through five fights in the organization, with the only knock being that he has gone the distance in all five. Most recently, he won a unanimous decision against Canada’s Hakeem Dawodu.
Topuria has won his first three fights inside the octagon, with two coming via way of finish. The 24-year old has been a finishing machine thus far in his professional career, only going the distance once through his eleven fights.
In his latest outing, Topuria knocked out jiu-jitsu ace Ryan Hall.
UFC 270 is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Francis Ngannou and interim champ Ciryl Gane. The co-main event will see a second title fight play out, in the form of the trilogy fight between flyweight champ Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo.
