Gregory Rodrigues was looking to build on a win in his octagon debut earlier this year when he faced off with Jun Yong Park on the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 41.
The evening’s featured prelim (or afternoon, more accurate depending on where you were) found the former LFA champ on a three-fight winning streak. Park, meanwhile, had also won three straight, all under the Ultimate Fighting Championship banner.
Rodrigues found plenty of success in the opening round. After a feeling out process on the feet, Rodrigues found his comfort zone on the mat. He’d finish the round controlling from the back, but was unable to find the submission.
Early in the second, it was Park hunting for a submission care of a front choke. But as the pair got back to the feet, Park backed up his opponent with punches, and Rodrigues was under heavy fire along the fence. He’d survive, and managed to get Park down, threatening to take the back. Park worked back to his feet, and again, Rodrigues had his back to the fence.

He wouldn’t stay there. Rodrigues got his own hands going, clipping Park with a right hand, then another. Park stumbled back across the octagon to the fence. There, Rodrigues caught him with a few more punches, leaving Park with his lights out.
Official Result: Gregory Rodrigues def. Jun Yong Park by Knockout, Round 2, 3:13
