A fight between bantamweight prospects Jesse Strader and Chad Anheliger is being targeted for a UFC event on February 19.
MMA Junkie reports that the UFC is targeting a return for bantamweight prospect Jesse Strader against promotional newcomer Chad Anheliger early next year. The fight is expected to take place on February 19, 2022.
Strader (5-2) is looking to bounce back from a loss to Montel Jackson in what was a short notice debut in the UFC back in March. An injury forced him to withdraw from a bout with Mana Martinez this past August. Fighting out of Lancaster, California, Strader is best known for building his professional career in Combate Americas where he had a breakthrough performance that made Sportscenter‘s Top 10 list his before being signed to the UFC.
Anheliger (11-5) will be making his official debut after winning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in September where he prevailed with a split decision over Muin Gafurov. The Canadian standout rides an impressive nine fight win-streak in several regional promotions heading into the bout. He also defeated recent The Ultimate Fighter finalist Brady Hiestand in his final bout before the Contender Series.
