Fight of the Year is what Niko Price thinks his fight with Alex Oliveira at UFC Vegas 38 could be.
When Price vs. Oliveira was announced, it was clear that something special could be in the making between them. Both fighters always are in nonstop action fights, and both fighters have over ten finishes on their resume.
“The Hybrid” agrees with the MMA world at large on that front, and says there is a potential for his fight to earn Fight of the Year honors, although he hopes to get a quick finish.
“Oh, this is going to be awesome. You know, this could be a Fight of the Year potentially. But I don’t really like that because that means it will go long. I’m looking for the finish, and I know he is too. We’re both on little a bumpy part in our career, but we’re both coming out to get it,” Price told reporters during UFC Vegas 38 media day. “I saw him yesterday; we shook hands, hugged. He feels good, so I’m ready to go. I’m excited.”
Price is on the first two-fight losing streak of his career, so when asked if he was just looking to get back in the win column, Price had a simple but exciting response.
“It’s Niko. I’m coming in to be Niko and fight. It’s as simple as that. The win is going to come, but it’s going to be an exciting Price fight. I’m coming to put Niko in it.”
