Jessica Borga appeared on WWE programming earlier this year, but while the pro wrestling outfit asked her to return, the Bellator featherweight has put fighting first.
Borga (3-3) turned up on a WWE segment as one of Bobby Lashley’s “ladies.” Not exactly in-ring action or anything ground breaking, but Lashley remains one of Vince McMahon’s biggest stars.
“Honestly, it was just a fun little thing that happened on the side,” Borga said of the experience during Wednesday’s Bellator 267 media day. One of her friends, Borga revealed, works on the media side of the WWE. “Bobby Lashley needed some girls, which is not my normal character, I guess you could say. I thought it’d be a fun little thing to do on the side, and it was a great opportunity as well. They wanted me back, but I didn’t want to do that. Fighting first. But it was just a fun little side thing.”
Borga trained with fighters like UFC flyweight Gillian Robertson ahead of this fight, which serves as the Bellator 267 co-main event. It’s clear she feels well-prepared, and she doesn’t see Northern Ireland’s McCourt as all that different from her past foes.
“Honestly not really much difference at all,” Borga stated. “I mean, she’s definitely a game opponent, she’s higher in the rankings, but I don’t see her as much different from much of the other opponents that I’ve had.”
