A pair of heavyweights will look to continue their winning ways after securing their first UFC win.
MMA Fighting was the first to report the news that Don’Tale Mayes and Josh Parisian will fight on December 18 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event. A source close to the situation later confirmed the fight to Cageside Press.
With his back against the wall and his job on the line, Mayes (8-4) picked up his first win inside the octagon last November. He picked up a unanimous decision over Roque Martinez in that fight. Before that, he was submitted by both Rodrigo Nascimento and Ciryl Gane.
Parisian (14-4) also defeated Martinez in his last outing to pick up his long-awaited first UFC win. Prior to his most recent outing, Parisian was defeated by Parker Porter in his promotional debut. Before his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut, the Michigan native was put through the wringer to try and get into the promotion. He competed on Dana White’s Contender Series twice as well as The Ulitmate Fighter. However, Parisian never gave up and is now fighting officially for the third time inside the octagon.
No location, venue, or broadcast plan has been announced for the December 18 event, but UFC President Dana White said that all Fight Nights will be staying at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, NV.
The December 18 card only has two other fights scheduled thus far.
- Amanda Lemos vs. Nina Ansaroff
- Anthony Hernandez vs. Dustin Stoltzfus
- Don’Tale Mayes vs. Josh Parisian
