Aloyna Rassohyna vs. Stamp Fairtex
Who doesn’t like a good revenge story?
That’s exactly what you’re getting in Aloyna Rassohyna vs. Stamp Fairtex. Having won gold in both Muay Thai and Kickboxing under the ONE banner, Fairtex has been focusing more on MMA of late — and Rassohyna was the first woman to defeat the Thai athlete in a mixed martial arts contest.
That fight came this past January, ending Fairtex’s undefeated streak and dropping her record to 5-1. A submission in the dying seconds of the third round, it immediately brought up questions regarding the striker’s ground game.
Fairtex told Cageside Press ahead of Empower that she’s been eager for the rematch since that night. Whether the gap between fights was long enough to shore up her submission defense will be a question. It’s something Fairtex confirmed she’s been working diligently at.
Rassohyna, a 17-fight veteran with a 13-4 record, was making her pro debut when she defeated Fairtex. The Ukrainian fighter enters the bout on a three-fight win streak, and with a win over her opponent already is favored to repeat. Interestingly enough, her most recent loss came to Seo Hee Ham under the ROAD FC banner — which is another rematch that could come down the line.
