Larissa Pacheco has seen her shot at a third fight with Kayla Harrison, and a million dollars, slip through her fingers.
At Wednesday’s PFL Playoffs 2 weigh-in, Pacheco weighed in two pounds over the women’s lightweight limit. Pacheco had been scheduled to face Taylor Guardado in one of two semifinal fights; instead, she has been pulled from the event.
Per PFL officials, who announced the news ahead of Friday’s weigh-in show, Pacheco has been replaced by #5 seed Mariana Morais. Reporter Igor Melotto was first to report the turn of events.
Headlining Thursday’s PFL Playoffs 2 card is, of course, Harrison, the two-time Olympic gold medal winner in judo. She takes on Genah Fabian, with Pacheco having been a favorite to meet her in the final. The pair had fought twice previously, with Harrison winning both meetings.
