Joanne Calderwood (#6 Ranked UFC Woman’s Flyweight) currently holds a 18-5 professional MMA record. Calderwood is currently 2-2 her last 4 fights. Calderwood is coming off a razor close split decision loss against Lauren Murphy in June.
Alexa Grasso (#10 Ranked UFC Woman’s Flyweight) currently holds a 13-3 professional record, winning her previous two fights. Her last loss was a majority decision loss against Carla Esparza in September of 2019. In February, Grasso defeated Maycee Barber via unanimous decision.
The UFC Fight Night card is expected to take place in Las Vegas. While the location hasn’t been confirmed yet, UFC President Dana White previously stated that the remaining Fight Night events in 2021 would be held in the fight capital. Calderwood vs. Grasso is the only fight scheduled for this card currently.
The bout could put the winner in a fight for the belt or one fight away, a spot Calderwood has been once before.
