The UFC is back in action this weekend at UFC Vegas 32 — and so is former bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw.
Dillashaw’s fall from grace is one of the most drastic in mixed martial arts history. From UFC champion, to failed title challenger, to admitted cheat, all in a matter of weeks. Dillashaw’s failed bid to capture a second title at flyweight, only to be knocked out at the hands of Henry Cejudo, resulted not only in a loss on his record, but the loss of his 135lb title after a positive drug test for EPO.
Given the nature of the drug, there were no excuses to be made. EPO is not the sort of substance that you find in a contaminated substance. With few options, Dillashaw owned up to cheating, and relinquished the title that would have been stripped regardless. Following a two-year ban, however, Dillashaw returns Saturday against Cory Sandhagen.
MMA fans are eager to see if the ex-champ looks or performs any different, for obvious reasons. The journey back continues Friday, as all fights weigh-in for the Fight Night event.
Cageside Press in on the ground in Las Vegas this weekend, and will have results from Friday’s weigh-in updated as they happen!
