It was Irene Aldana who was unfortunately the talk of the UFC 264 weigh-ins on Friday.
While headliners Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier made weight without issue, the Mexican bantamweight hit a snag at the scales. Coming off a loss to Holly Holm and hoping to get back into contention, her case would not be helped when Aldana missed weight by 3.5lbs.
With a negotiated fine of 30%, Aldana’s fight with fellow top contender Yana Kunitskaya will move forward, however.
That was the only snag at Friday morning’s official weigh-in. Which left only the ceremonial weigh-in later in the day as the last stop before fight night. That final promotional push gets underway at 7PM ET at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. You can check out the UFC 264 ceremonial weigh-in live stream above.
