Yorgan De Castro’s first fight since his UFC release will be with regional scene promotion CES.
Multiple sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, have confirmed to Cageside Press that De Castro will be fighting former PFL fighter Rakim Cleveland on August 6 at CES 63.
CES announced today that they will be holding back-to-back events on August 6 and 7. August 6 will be an MMA fight card, while August 7 will be a boxing card. Both events will be held at the MassMutual Center in Spring Field, MA.
De Castro (6-3) is on the first losing streak of his career, losing three straight. “The Mad Titan” knocked out Justin Tafa in his UFC debut but would lose two unanimous decisions following that, and in his most recent outing, he would get knocked unconscious in April. The UFC would release him a few weeks later.
Cleveland (21-13-1) is on a two-fight winning streak since going 1-5 in PFL throughout 2018-19. Taking 2020 off, “The Boogeyman” would return in March and submit Parnell Davis, and then one month later, he would TKO Scott Hough. Cleveland was supposed to headline CFFC 96: Jones vs. Cleveland, but the night of the event, he would get sick, and the fight was called off.
For De Castro, this marks his climb back to the UFC or another major MMA organization.
