A pair of exciting UFC welterweights will collide in September.
MMA Fighting was the first to report the news that Impa Kasanganay will fight Carlston Harris on September 18 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event. Both fighters would confirm the booking on their Instagrams.
Kasanganay (9-1) rebounded perfectly from his first professional loss when he defeated Sasha Palatnikov via submission in the second round back in April. It was also his welterweight debut. Before his most recent win, “Tshilobo” was victim to the kick heard around the world when he was virally knocked out last year on ‘Fight Island.’ Kasanganay is currently 2-1 in the UFC.
Harris (16-4) made an impression in his UFC debut when he choked Christian Aguilera to sleep via anaconda choke in May. Moçambique would receive a Performance of the Night for his efforts. Harris is riding a four-fight win streak, with all of those wins being stoppages.
The promotion has announced no location, venue, or broadcast details for the September 18 UFC event.
So far, the Fight Night card looks like this:
- Anthony Smith vs. Ryan Spann
- Montel Jackson vs. Batgerel Danaa
- Dakota Bush vs. Zhu Rong
- Devin Clark vs. Ion Cutelaba
- Mike Rodriguez vs. Tafon Nchukwi
- Impa Kasanganay vs. Carlston Harris
