The upcoming UFC 264 card has a banger of a welterweight fight set, as Carlos Condit will take on Max Griffin at the PPV event.
A source close to the situation confirmed the booking to Cageside Press on Thursday, following an initial report by MMA Junkie. The source spoke on condition of anonymity, as the promotion has yet to finalize the bout or make an official announcement.
Condit (32-13), a former interim welterweight champion in the UFC and two-time title challenger, currently sits on a two-fight win streak with the promotion. Most recently, he earned a unanimous decision win over Court McGee at UFC on ABC 1 back in January.
Max Griffin (17-8) is on a two-fight winning streak of his own. Last time out, in March, he knocked out China’s Song Kenan in a Performance of the Night winning effort. Prior to that, Griffin had finished Ramiz Brahimaj by a doctor’s stoppage TKO (ear injury).
UFC 264 is set to take place July 11 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The PPV event will be topped by the rubber match in the trilogy between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.
