A pair of UFC veterans will collide in July.
On Monday, the UFC Korea Instagram account announced that Kyung Ho Kang and Rani Yahya will fight on July 31 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event.
Yahya (27-10-1-1) got back to his winning ways when he submitted Ray Rodriguez in the second round of their fight in March at UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs. Muhammad. Before that, the Brazilian fought Enrique Barzola to draw in his only fight of 2020 and lost to Ricky Simon in 2019 via a unanimous decision.
Kang (18-8-1) will be returning after a lengthy lay-off. “Mr. Perfect” hasn’t been in action since he defeated Liu Pingyuan via a split decision in his home country of South Korea back in 2019. He is riding a three-fight winning streak with wins over Brandon Davis and Teruto Ishihara. Since returning from his mandatory military service in 2018, he has gone 4-1 with his lone loss to Ricardo Ramos.
The UFC’s July 31 event does not have an official location, venue, or broadcast plan announced. No main event has been announced.
