The Korean Superboy is back! And he is set to fight a very game opponent.
On Monday, the UFC Korea Instagram account announced that Doo-Ho Choi returns from a two-year layoff to fight Danny Chavez on July 31 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event.
Choi (14-4) returns to active competition after serving his military service for his country. He has been out of action since his 2019 TKO loss to Charles Jourdain in South Korea. After starting his UFC career out with two wins, “The Korean Superboy” desperately needs a win as he has lost three straight. Choi was knocked out by Jeremy Stephens and lost a unanimous decision to Cub Swanson in one of the year’s best fights.
Chaves (11-4) had his four-fight win streak snapped against Jared Gordon in his last outing at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Lewis. He would lose a unanimous decision. “The Colombian Warrior” was successful in his UFC debut against T.J. Brown, winning a unanimous decision.
The fight has the potential to be complete fireworks.
The UFC’s July 31 event does not have an official location, venue, or broadcast plan announced. No main event has been announced.
