Anthony Pettis will headline his second Professional Fighters League card of 2021 on June 10.
In a press release Thursday, promotion officials confirmed that Pettis would top this year’s PFL 4 card against Alex Martinez. The former UFC and WEC champ will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Clay Collard in his promotional debut last month.
Pettis (24-11) joined the PFL as one of its biggest free agent signings to date, and was immediately favored to win the lightweight tournament this year. However, he wound up suffering a one-sided decision loss to Collard — leaving him no points toward this year’s post-season.
Martinez (8-0, 1NC) made the most of his short-notice call-up to the league, defeating Loik Radzhabov by split decision at the PFL 1 card back in April.
Also on the PFL 4 card on June 10, Brendan Loughnane, the only finisher at the league’s 2021 premiere, returns against Tyler Diamond. Lightweight and featherweight 2019 champs Natan Schulte and Lance Palmer will also be looking for their first wins of the season.
