The UFC is welcoming fans back in the state of Arizona.
In a press release Tuesday, UFC officials announced that the UFC 263 card, which features Israel Adesanya taking on Marvin Vettori in the main event, will take place with fans in Glendale, Arizona. The event, taking place June 12, will be held at the Gila River Arena. It will be the first trip to Arizona in two years for the promotion — and just the third back with a full house, following last month’s UFC 261 in Jacksonville, FL, and the upcoming UFC 262 card in Houston, TX.
Prior to that, all UFC shows since March 2020 had been held without fans in attendance due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the exception of limited seating during the promotion’s stint on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi earlier this year.
In addition to the middleweight title fight topping the event, UFC 263 will also feature a highly anticipated rematch between flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo, and challenger Brandon Moreno. The pair first fought at UFC 256 last December, with the bout ending in a draw.
Also on the UFC 263 card, Nate Diaz returns to face top welterweight contender Leon Edwards, while also at 170lbs, Demian Maia takes on Belal Muhammad.
