Before weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 26 had even finished on Friday, the card had lost two fights.
First, Ryan Benoit stumbled at the scale, missed weight, and saw his flyweight bout cancelled Friday morning. Then, after successfully weighing in himself, heavyweight “Big” Ben Rothwell revealed on social media that his own fight with Philipe Lins was off.
Per Rothwell’s statement, it appears Lins fell ill and did not weigh in.
“I made the weight, ready to go. UNFORTUNATELY my opponent has gotten ill today, and the fight has been scratched. [Phillipe Lins] I hope you are ok and can recover,” the Wisconsin heavyweight wrote.
Rothwell had been expected to face Lins as part of the UFC Vegas 26 preliminary card. With the loss of that and the Benoit fight, the event will move forward with a total of ten bouts. The card airs live on Saturday, May 8 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, NV.
The following bouts remain scheduled:

Donald Cerrone vs. Alex Morono
