With Danyelle Wolf dropping out of UFC Vegas 27 (UFC Fight Night 188) due to injury, Canada’s Felicia Spencer has a new opponent.
Stepping up later this month — the card falls on May 22 — will be featherweight turned bantamweight turned featherweight Norma Dumont. Promotion officials recently announced the news.
Dumont (5-1) joined the promotion last year, coming up short against Megan Anderson. That led to a drop to bantamweight, where Dumont missed twice. First, in a win against Ashlee Evans-Smith last November, then again last month against Erin Blanchfield.
The Blanchfield bout was pulled due to the miss.
Spencer (8-2), a former Invicta FC featherweight champ, is one of the UFC’s last remaining featherweights. She last competed against champ Amanda Nunes in a failed title bid at UFC 250 last June. Overall, Spencer is 2-2 inside the octagon, with wins against Zarah Fairn and Anderson. Her other loss came to Cris Cyborg.
