UFC 261 is official, with the full card making weight Friday morning. And for the first time in over a year, the promotion hosted a ceremonial weigh-in with fans present.
With Florida opened up, the Jacksonville card was expecting a full house on Saturday at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. There, three titles would be on the line. Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal topped the bill, a rematch of their Fight Island bout last year. Where Masvidal had all of six days to make that fight happen, he’d had a full camp heading into UFC 261. Was it enough time to solve the puzzle that was Kamaru Usman’s dominant wrestling?
Also on the line, women’s flyweight and strawweight gold. Valentina Shevchenko was paired up with Jessica Andrade in the toughest title challenge of “Bullet’s” career, while Weili Zhang was set to take on ex-champ Rose Namajunas at 115lbs.
Highlights from the UFC 261 ceremonial weigh-in can be found below!
