Two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes is scheduled to defend her bantamweight title against Julianna Pena at UFC 265 on August 7.
Reigning UFC bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes is scheduled to defend her 135 pound title against ranked contender Julianna Pena at UFC 265 on August 7. ESPN was first to report the news.
Nunes will be looking for a historic 13th victory in a row as she continues a run that has seen her win and defend both the bantamweight and featherweight titles multiple times. Only five other fighters in UFC history have won 13 in a row in the promotion and only one (Anderson Silva) has ever broken the record. Nunes has defended the bantamweight title five times and defended the featherweight title twice. She most recently defeated Megan Anderson by first round submission in March.
Julianna Pena will be looking to record a historic upset as she has alternated wins and losses in her past four fights. After coming up short against current flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko in 2017, Pena took a two and a half year hiatus for the birth of her daughter. She returned to split fights with Nicco Montano and Germaine de Randamie. She most recently defeated Sara McMann in January.
No undercard fights or a location for the event has been announced.
