Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima will be defending his title against undefeated Yaroslav Amosov at Bellator 260 on June 11.
One of the world’s top welterweights will be returning to action as Bellator champion Douglas Lima competes for the first time in 2021 this June. Lima will be looking to defend his title against undefeated contender Yaroslav Amosov atop the Bellator 260 card. MMA Junkie was first to report the news. The event is scheduled to take place on June 11.
Bellator’s Douglas Lima (32-8) has quietly become one of the best welterweights in the world, with many considering him to be one of the greatest fights to have never competed in the UFC. In the past decade, he has only lost three times at welterweight: to Ben Askren, Andrey Koreshkov, and Rory MacDonald. The latter two he avenged in impressive fashion. Most recently, he came up short in a bid to win the middleweight title and become a two-division title holder after losing to Gegard Mousasi last October.
Yaroslav Amosov of Ukraine has amassed an impressive 25-0 record that began in his native country and has carried over into Bellator. A part of the promotion since 2018, Amosov has gone 6-0 under the Bellator banner and recorded victories over UFC veterans Gerald Harris and Erick Silva. Most recently, he handed surging Bellator contender Logan Storley his first loss last November.
No fights for the Bellator 260 undercard have been announced yet. The event is expected to take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
