Even at 42-years old, former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski is game to step in on short notice.
The old school fighting legend will do just that in a little over a week’s time when he replaces Parker Porter against Chase Sherman at UFC Vegas 24. Fight Bananas was first to report the news.
No reason was given for Porter’s withdrawal from the fight.
Arlovski (30-20, 2NC) will enter the bout off a loss to rising prospect Tom Aspinall at UFC Vegas 19 back in February. The loss snapped a two-fight winning streak for “The Pitbull,” who had strung together a pair of wins over Philipe Lins and Tanner Boser.
Sherman (15-6) is currently on a four-fight win streak. However, after a win over Ike Villanueva last May, Sherman tested positive for banned substances, and was forces onto the sidelines for a period. The fight against Arlovski will be his first in almost a year.
