Bellator’s world featherweight grand prix got back underway on Friday at Bellator 255. And it did not take long at all the produce the second semifinalist in the tournament.
Within a round, featherweight (and lightweight) champ Patricio Pitbull had knocked challenger Emmanuel Sanchez down and choked him out. Where Pitbull was unable to put away “El Matador” in their first meeting in 2018, he had no such troubles in the rematch, making it an early night — and moving on to the finale this summer, where he will face the undefeated A.J. McKee. He also became the first man to stop Sanchez.
Also on the night, Kana Watanabe got the better of Alejandra Lara, Tyrell Fortune made short work of Jack May in their rematch, and Jason Jackson put himself within striking distance of a title fight by defeating Neiman Gracie.
