Invicta FC standout Montserrat Ruiz makes her octagon debut this Saturday at UFC Vegas 22, and she’s expecting some fireworks when she does.
Ruiz is entering the fight against Cheyanne Buys on short notice. Buys herself is making her own promotional debut, and has gone on record to state that she’s familiar with everything Ruiz has to show her.
The Mexican fighter known as “Conejo” had her own response to that during Thursday’s UFC Vegas 22 virtual media day. “I know she’s the kind of fighter that likes to talk smack. If she really knows me, we’re going to find out on Saturday, because on Saturday, there’s going to be a war.”
Asked for her own thoughts on opponent Buys, Ruiz stated that “I think she’s the kind of fighter that likes to move forward. I know she’s a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, I have my background in Olympic wrestling.”
As for what fans can expect from her, “they’re going to remember me because I’m the kind of fighter that likes to walk forward, and in order to finish me, they’re going to have to kill me,” Ruiz said.
