Oh “Boi.” Heavyweight action has been added to the UFC 263 card, as Carlos Felipe (10-1) will face Jake Collier (12-5) at the event.
Felipe, a.k.a. “Boi” (excuse that earlier bad pun) will be looking to build off a two-fight win streak when he takes on the former middleweight Collier. Brazil’s Combate was first to report news of the booking; Carlos Felipe later confirmed the pairing on social media. The heavyweight recently signed a new contract with the UFC.
Contrato renovado, vocês vão ver mais Carlos Felipe “Boi” no UFC / Just signed my new contract, you guys will see a lot more of Carlos Felipe “Boi” inside of UFC. Thanks @Mickmaynard2 @danawhite @ufc for your trust pic.twitter.com/fnsE8XeJCp

At just 26-years old, Felipe is one of the youngest big men on the roster, and could very much be a big part of the division’s future down the line. The Brazilian arrived in the UFC last year, posting a 1-1 record that featured a loss to Sergey Spivak and a victory against Yorgan de Castro.
Felipe then started off 2021 on the right foot, picking up a victory over Justin Tafa at UFC on ABC 1 in January.
Collier has steadily climbed weight classes over the last few years, moving from middleweight to light heavyweight to heavyweight. He’s 1-1 since joining the UFC’s largest division, and coming off a win over Gian Villante.
UFC 263 takes place June 12, 2021. While no official location, venue, or broadcast plans have been announced for the PPV card, the following fights have been reported:
Deiveson Figueiredo (c) vs Brandon Moreno – for the UFC flyweight championship
Carlos Felipe vs. Jake Collier
Luigi Vendramini vs. Fares Ziam
Movsar Evloev vs. Hakeem Dawodu
