It looks like former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao has found a new fighting home, with the promotion Elite MMA Championship (EMC).
Elite MMA Championship took to Twitter to announce the news of their latest signee, which boosts their Bantamweight division and surely puts their current title contenders on notice.

Renan Barao has not found a win in MMA since September 24, 2016 against Phillipe Nover under the UFC banner. Some critics might say that “The Baron” was never the same after losing his bantamweight championship to T.J. Dillashaw. A fresh start with a new promotion could be the spark that was needed to rejuvenate his career and remind the world that his championship days are not behind him. With EMC, Barao looks to get back into the win column and shake off a five-fight losing streak that saw ups and downs within the UFC, not only with losses but failed weight cuts in at least two of those five fights.
Barao’s last fight came against Douglas Silva de Andrade in November of 2019, in the featherweight division. He lost the bout via unanimous decision.
No opponent or debut date has been announced as of yet for former UFC bantamweight king Renan Barao in EMC. But there’s little doubt that news will be announced soon enough.
