A pair of middleweights will look to get back into the win column at UFC 262.
First reported by MMA Junkie, Dana White’s Contender Series alumni Jordan Wright and Jaime Pickett will fight at UFC 262 on May 15. Pickett would later confirm the bout on social media.
Pickett (11-5) punched his ticket to the UFC after a rare third appearance on season four of Dana White’s Contender Series. He knocked out Jhonoven Pati in the main event in week four. “Nightwolf” would make his UFC debut on the last card of 2020 against fellow DWCS alum Tafon Nchukwi, who was also making his debut. Pickett would lose a unanimous decision.
Wright (11-1) went 2-1 in 2020. After losing out on a UFC contract on season two of Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018, Wright would take a year off and come back with a win to kick-off 2020. “The Beverly Hills Ninja” would knock out Gabriel Checco in LFA in January to punch his ticket to the UFC on short notice, where he would defeat Isaac Villanueva via doctor stoppage. Wright would lose his most recent fight via knockout at UFC 255 in November to Joaquin Buckley.
No main event for UFC 262 has been revealed just yet, but the rest of the card now looks like this:
- Priscila Cachoeira vs. Gina Mazany
- Edson Barboza vs. Shane Burgos
- Viviane Araujo vs. Katlyn Chookagian
- Alex Perez vs. Matt Schnell
- Andrea Lee. vs. Antonina Shevchenko
