UFC Vegas 20 wasn’t the most packed card – in terms of fights or action. In total the nine bouts produced just one finish, and that bout still went into the third round. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the list of medical suspensions is also low. Only thirteen of the eighteen fighters face any kind of layoff at all, and only three fighters face the dreaded 180 days. Among the five fighters facing no time off is Cyril Gane, who was criticized for fighting an overly smart fight. He appears to be no worse for the wear as a result.
Of those three fighters on the long suspensions are Thiago Moises and Ronnie Lawrence, who both won their fights. In his dominant decision win, Moises appears to have injured his right foot, which will put him on the shelf. Lawrence saw several injuries during the lone stoppage of the card, including damage to his left foot and rib cage. Both can be cleared early with x-rays and doctor’s clearance.
Also on the shelf for an extended period of time is Sabina Mazo. Her 180 days suspension comes after being out-grappled by tough veteran Alexis Davis. The “Colombian Queen” sustained injuries to her left leg during that fight and will need some time to heal. Of course, like Moises and Lawrence, she can be cleared to fight earlier if the x-rays come back negative.
