Brazilian bantamweight John Lineker will make his third appearance for ONE Championship this April.
Lineker (33-9) will take on Stephen Loman (14-2) at the ONE on TNT 4 card on April 28, 2021. The fight is expected to take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. ONE on TNT 4 is one of events several set to air on U.S. cable network TNT in April, as the promotion looks to increase its visibility in stateside.
Cageside Press confirmed the booking with promotion officials on Friday, following an initial report by MMA Fighting.
Lineker is 2-0 in his ONE Championship career to date, after exiting the UFC in 2019. Is his debut for the promotion, he defeated Muin Gafurov via a unanimous decision, then returned last year against former champ Kevin Belingon. Lineker won the bout by second-round TKO.
His opponent, Stephen Loman, will be getting a big step up in competition come April. A Filipino fighter out of Lakay Central Gym, Loman will be making his ONE debut in the fight after finding considerable success under the Brave CF banner. He currently sits on a eight-fight win streak, dating all the way back to 2016.
ONE Championship was in action earlier today, with 16-year old Victoria Lee earning her first win as a professional mixed martial artist at Fists of Fury. However, the promotion is saving some of its best talent for April, as along with Lineker, names like Demetrious Johnson, Aung La N Sang, and Eddie Alvarez will be competing.
