The UFC’s March 13 date, UFC Vegas 21 (or UFC Fight Night 187 if you prefer) has added some flyweight action.
Sherdog was first to report that Cortney Casey vs. JJ Aldrich is the latest addition to the Fight Night card. Cageside Press verified the booking with a source close to the situation on Friday.
Casey (9-8) is a longtime strawweight who made the move back to flyweight (where she competed prior to her UFC career) last year. She went 1-1 at 125lbs in 2020, defeating Mara Romero Borella via arm-bar before being submitted herself later in the year by Gillian Robertson.
“Cast Iron” has traded wins and losses across her last four fights, posting a 2-2 mark in that span. She’ll look to return to the win column against Aldrich (8-4), who has been in a similar situation of late. Also 2-2 in her last four, Aldrich, another former strawweight, has been trading wins and losses, and is coming off a split decision loss to Sabina Mazo at UFC 246 in January 2020.
UFC Vegas 21 takes place at the UFC Apex on March 13, 2021. The card currently includes the following bouts:
