Two of the UFC’s top flyweight prospects have been rebooked as Gillian Robertson will fight Miranda Maverick at UFC 260 on March 27.
A fight between two of the top flyweight prospects has been rebooked as Gillian Robertson is set to fight Miranda Maverick on March 27 at UFC 260. The news was first reported by FighterPath.com and confirmed by Maverick on Instagram. Robertson also confirmed she’d signed a bout agreement, adding “let’s try this again.” The two were originally set to fight over a week ago at UFC 258 before Robertson fell ill the night before the fight was forced to withdraw from the bout.
A part of the UFC since 2017, Gillian Robertson (9-5) is looking to bounce back from a loss to Taila Santos in December. Considered one of the top young prospects in the sport at 25 years old, “The Savage” has recorded victories over Molly McCann, Cortney Casey, and Poliana Botelho in her career. In her last fight, Robertson had short notice opponent change after Andrea Lee withdrew from the bout due to injury and was booked to fight Santos a week later than her originally scheduled date.
Miranda Maverick (8-2) is looking to build on a successful UFC debut last October where she defeated Liana Jojua. After opening her career in Invicta FC and recording victories over Pearl Gonzalez, Deanna Bennett, Maverick entered the UFC at 23 years old and has already gained attention with UFC commentator Jon Anik saying she is one of the fighters to watch in 2021.
UFC 260 is scheduled to feature a championship double-header with heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic taking on Francis Ngannou and featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski taking on Brian Ortega. The event is scheduled to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
