Windsor, Ontario native TJ Laramie will return to the UFC octagon this coming May.
The Canadian featherweight has confirmed on social media that he will be facing Damon Jackson at the UFC’s planned May 1 event. MMA Lock of the Night was first to report the booking, which has not been officially announced by the UFC.
Laramie (12-4) won his way into the UFC last year on Dana White’s Contender Series with a dominant performance against Daniel Swain. That fight ended in a TKO victory for Laramie after Swain sustained a rib injury in the opening round. The Canadian’s official UFC debut, however, did not go as planned, as Laramie came up short against Darrick Minner back in September.
He’ll have had plenty of time to regroup by the time he gets back in the octagon. And he’ll be up against another experienced foe in Damon Jackson (18-4-1), who is on his second stint with the UFC. Returning to the promotion in 2020, Jackson posted a 1-1 record, and is coming off a loss to Ilia Topuria. Jackson first competed for the organization in 2014, posting a record of 0-1-1, 1NC before being released in 2016.
No official location or venue has been announced for the UFC’s May 1, 2021 event. The card is expected to be a Fight Night event. A main event has not yet been revealed.
