A promising heavyweight showdown has been added to the UFC’s March 13 card.
Already topped by Leon Edwards vs. Khamzat Chimaev, the event has added Jairzinho Rozenstruik, who will go up against the surging prospect Ciryl Gane.
French media outlet La Sueur was first to report the news.
Gane (7-0) has been one of the hottest properties in the heavyweight division over the past two years. He has posted a 4-0 record during that span, with three finishes capped by a knockout of former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos last month.
In fact, Gane’s biggest competition has arguably been inactivity. He was unable to compete for most of 2020 thanks to the coronavirus pandemic and fights falling through. But the finish (technically a TKO) of JDS at UFC 256 launched him back into the heavyweight conversation.
Rozenstruik (11-1) is also coming off a finish of former champ Dos Santos. The fighter out of Suriname has only one blemish on his professional record, against Francis Ngannou at UFC 249. Overall, “Bigi Boy” is 5-1 inside of the octagon, with notable wins over Alistair Overeem and Andrei Arlovski in addition to JDS.
The UFC’s March 13, 2021 card does not have an official location or venue announced. The following bouts have been reported for the card to date.
