ONE Championship was back Friday with its second Big Bang event. A tape-delayed show originally taking place in Kallang, Singapore, Big Bang II put the focus on kick boxing and Muay Thai action, with a Muay Thai main event topping the card.
That main event saw former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty going the distance with Japan’s Taiki Naito. In the end, Haggerty maintained his spot in the flyweight division hierarchy, winning a unanimous decision.
In the co-main event, standout Dutch kickboxer Nieky Holzken, a former GLORY world champion, stopped Elliot Compton in the opening round to retain his #1 ranking in the lightweight division.
On the MMA side of things, Tyler McGuire defeated fellow ONE Championship mainstay Agilan Thani by unanimous decision. And China’s Chen Rui continued to impress by finishing Ali Motamed within a round.
