A fight that has fallen through twice previously is once again on for Bellator 254.
Robson Gracie Jr. is expected to face Billy Goff on the the card next week, which will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Bellator MMA officials confirmed the booking to Cageside Press on Thursday.
Gracie (3-0) and Goff (2-2) were originally expected to fight in March at the ill-fated Bellator 241. That even was cancelled at the eleventh hour due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
The bout was next rescheduled for September’s Bellator 246. Gracie would eventually pull out of the bout.
The youngest brother of Renzo Gracie, Robson has fought all three of his professional bouts under the Bellator MMA banner. All three of those wins have come via submission, which should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with the Gracie family. His last bout came in November 2019, when he defeated Ameer Bashir via triangle choke.
Goff will be entering his second bout with Bellator MMA. He’s spent some time outside the promotion since a win over Ryan Hardy Evans at Bellator 215, but has lost both of those fights, which came under the Reality Fighting and Cage Titans banners.
