Su Mudaerji needed all of 44 seconds to show why he is one of the most highly rated prospects at flyweight in the UFC, finishing Malcolm Gordon inside of one round.
Canada’s Malcolm Gordon got a second look at UFC Vegas 15. The flyweight had debuted earlier this year, falling to Amir Albazi on Fight Island. For his sophomore outing, the former TKO flyweight champion had drawn Su Mudaerji. The pair sported identical 12-4 records to start the night, but Mudaerji was looking to make it two in a row after picking up his first UFC win against Andre Soukhamthath.
Mudaerji, however, had not competed in well over a year, with that win coming back in August of 2019. It didn’t seem to detract from his performance any, however.
Gordon opened up quickly, immediately bringing loads of pressure to quickly back Mudaerji up to the fence. However Mudaerji angled off the back of the cage, and soon landed a piston of a straight left, that rocked Gordon badly. Mudaerji then followed it up with a huge left hook followed by a big combination that sent Gordon crashing down. Mudaerji moved in with a couple of follow-up shots on the ground and that was all she wrote, a dominant performance by Su Mudaerji.
