A flyweight bout between Andrea Lee and Gillian Robertson is being targeted for UFC 256, in just three weeks on December 12.
First reported by MMAJunkie, a battle between flyweights Andrea Lee and Gillian Robertson is being targeted for UFC 256 on December 12. The news comes with the event just three weeks away.
Andrea “KGB” Lee will be looking to snap a three fight skid after suffering losses to Joanne Calderwood, Lauren Murphy, and Roxanne Modafferi. The former LFA champion entered the UFC in 2018 as one of the top prospects in the newly minted flyweight division and quickly gained momentum following victories over Veronica Macedo, Ashlee Evans-Smith, and Montana De La Rosa. Though the fight is on short notice, Lee has been seen working with UFC strawweight Tecia Torres as part of her training camp for her December 12 bout against Angela Hill.
Canada’s Gillian Robertson is looking to secure a breakthrough performance as she looks to break into the rankings. Just 25 years old, “The Savage” is considered one of the top flyweight prospects in the world and is on a two fight win-streak going into the bout. Following a loss to Maycee Barber in 2019, Robertson has bounced back with two of the best performances of her career in stopping Cortney Casey and most recently besting Poliana Botelho by decision.
UFC 256 is set to be headlined by the bantamweight title fight between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling. The event will be held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
