ONE Championship’s third Inside the Matrix show aired Friday, with John Lineker securing a statement victory in the main event.
Inside the Matrix III, which originated in Kallang, Singapore, was a previously taped event, with five mixed martial arts bouts. None stood out like the main event, with former UFC contender John Lineker going up against ex-bantamweight champ Kevin Belingon. While Belingon looked game, pulling off a number of the flashy spinning attacks he’s become known for, the punches in bunches and power of Lineker was too much for the Filipino fighter to bear. By the second round, Lineker had worn his opponent down, working the body before putting an exclamation point on things with a crushing knockout.
In the evening’s co-feature, another Filipino fighter, Geje Estaquiao, found better results. The former flyweight champ went the distance with Korean Song Min Jong, picking up the win by unanimous decision.
