Brandon Royval has made a splash in less than a year in the promotion and will be looking to cap it off with his biggest victory yet. Opening the year with a victory over Nate Williams to win the LFA flyweight title, Royval made his UFC debut in May where he stopped former title challenger Tim Elliott to alert the division to his presence. Just last week, he turned in another spectacular performance in finishing surging contender Kai Kara France. A third UFC victory for Royval will put him in the running for Breakthrough Fighter of the Year after going from unknown to top five contender within twelve months.
Brandon Moreno has made the most of his return to the Octagon since being re-signed in 2019. After being briefly released, “The Assassin Baby” returned to the UFC and fought current top contender Askar Askarov to a unanimous draw. Since then, he’s notched back-to-back victories over Kai Kara-France and former title challenger Jussier Formiga. Although originally set to face a more established name in Alex Perez, Moreno still has a chance to continue building momentum if he can derail the UFC’s newest upstart.
UFC 255 will take place on November 21 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card will feature a double-header with men’s flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo taking on Alex Perez and women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko taking on Jennifer Maia.
