The UFC’s October 17 card, which clocks in as UFC Fight Island 6, has a co-main event. On Thursday, UFC officials announced via social media that Volkan Oezdemir vs. Nikita Krylov would serve as the penultimate fight of the card.

The light heavyweight tilt sees Oezdemir (17-5) looking to get back in the win column, while Krylov (26-7) will be hoping to make it two in a row.
Oezdemir, who in 2018 challenged Daniel Cormier for the UFC’s 205lb title, is 2-2 since that fight. In his most recent effort, “No Time” was served up a knockout loss 49 seconds into the second round by promotional newcomer Jiří Procházka.
Prior to that, however, Oezdemir had put together wins against Ilir Latifi and Aleksandar Rakic.
Krylov, meanwhile, enters the fight off a unanimous decision win over Johnny Walker at UFC Brasilia in March. Which will make UFC Fight Island 6 the first bout of the pandemic era for “The Miner.” Since returning to the UFC in 2018, Krylov has been trading wins and losses, dropping fights to Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira, but picking up wins over Walker and Ovince Saint Preux.
The October 17 event currently consists of the following bouts:
Brian Ortega vs. Chan Sung Jung
