UFC Vegas 11 was a wild card before you even got to the powder keg of a main event. Johnny Walker and Ryan Spann engaged in a crazy brawl. Mackenzie Dern put on a Brazilian jiu-jitsu clinic. Damon Jackson proved that you can come home again.
Plenty of stoppages, a slow night for the judges, and pretty much every fight delivering, the the preliminary card opener between Tyson Nam and Jerome Rivera on up. In short, UFC Vegas 11 was a heck of a way to end the UFC’s current Vegas residency, as they prepare to return to Fight Island next week.
Of course, there’s no overlooking that main event. On one side, Tyron Woodley, hailing for Ferguson, MO, a city at the forefront of civil unrest not that long ago. On the other, the MAGA-hat wearing pro wrestling style caricature that is Colby Covington. Even without a fight booked, putting this pair in a room together figured to be explosive.
But take away all the window dressing, and you had a former champion looking to return to relevance, against a recent title challenger looking to earn another shot at the belt.
Following UFC Vegas 11, tune in for the post-fight press conference, featuring the night’s key players. The live stream can be found above.
