Dana White’s Contender Series season four has been underway for a few weeks now, and so far the UFC has signed sixteen new UFC fighters. Week five is coming up next Tuesday with five more exciting fights. One of those fights was supposed to see Tucker Lutz take on Victor Martinez. However, sources have confirmed to Cageside Press that Martinez is out of the fight. As a result, Lutz will be fighting Chase Gibson.
Hailing from Reisterstown, Maryland, Lutz trains out of Ground Control Academy. With only one bout going the distance, he’s finished fights on eight separate occasions. Lutz also went 8-0 as an amateur, winning two titles. Now 9-1 as a pro, Lutz is the Shogun Fights 155-pound champion.
Standing across from Lutz in the cage at the UFC Apex will be 30-year-old Chase Gibson (9-4). Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Gibson trains out of PKG Training Center and has trained with Jackson Wink MMA as well. With nine wins, he’s also finished eight fights.
Gibson is mostly known for his time fighting for Combate Americas, fighting twice for the promotion. He is however a two-time CXF featherweight champion, which is a promotion based out of California. Gibson is now on a two-fight win streak finishing both fights in the first round.
