Ji Yeon “Fire Fist” Kim (9-2-2 MMA, UFC)
Flyweight (125lbs) 3-1 (UFC), Missed weight two times
Bantamweight (135lbs): 0-1 (UFC)
Ji Kim entered the UFC back in June of 2017, to take on Lucie Pudilova in the bantamweight division. Kim lost a unanimous decision that night.
After this loss, Kim decided to take her 5’7″, 72″ reach frame down to the flyweight division. Ji Yeon picked up two tough split decision wins at 125lbs during 2018. However, before Kim’s third fight at flyweight against the then-undefeated, Antonina Shevchenko, she missed weight coming in at 130.5lbs. And to add insult to injury Kim ultimately ended up losing by unanimous decision in the fight.
And in Ji Yeon Kim’s most recent fight, back in October 2019, she again missed weight, this time coming in at 128lbs. This time, Kim won her fight the next day against Nadia Kassem, but her troubles on the scale the day prior really put a damper on her finish.
On August 29, 30-year-old Ji, will again be fighting in the flyweight division.
